You may sign-up for more than one position if the positions don't overlap with each other.

Please register by Oct. 29th to ensure your volunteer t-shirt for the event.

Volunteer Positions with ability to still participate as runner/walker in 5K:

  • Set Up: 8:30-9:30am [Sold Out]

    As a set-up volunteer, you will arrive and follow as directed to tidy the gazebo space and set-up in preparation for the 5k. This could mean setting up tables/chairs, breaking down boxes, setting up canopies, sorting supplies, setting up registration and t-shirt stations.

    Duties:
    Set up tables/chairs, event items, etc. under the direction of Heather, Ashley and Becca
    Wear closed-toed shoes, comfortable clothes to move, crouch, lift objects
    Volunteers should be able to lift up to 40lbs.


  • Registration/Check-in: 9:45am-11am [1 remaining]

    We are looking for volunteers that are adaptable, energetic, and patient. There may be communication challenges with some runners/families with lower English. Being proactive and problem solving will be beneficial. You will be expected to check-in runners, following guidelines, as directed, by Heather.

    Duties:
    Welcome runners at check-in table
    Check-off runners that have arrived & give out numbered bibs
    Direct runners to t-shirt station


  • T-shirt Distribution: 9:45-11am [1 remaining]

    We are looking for volunteers that are adaptable, energetic, and patient. There may be communication challenges with some runners/families with lower English. Being proactive and problem solving will be beneficial. You will be expected to hand out t-shirts, following guidelines, as directed, by Ashley.

    Duties:
    Hand out t-shirts to individual runners
    Work in collaboration with runner registration volunteers
    Direct registrants to starting line and bathrooms


  • Snack Area Attendant: 10:30-11am and 12:30-1pm (please plan for BOTH time frames) [2 remaining]

    This position will be a flexible and intuitive one. The main responsibility will be to organize, maintain, and clean up refreshments for runners and volunteers. Also paying attention to surroundings, proactively tidying the refreshment table area is expected. See duties below. This position coordinates with Becca.
    Duties:
    Prep, stock drinks & food regularly in gazebo snack area
    Ensure there are no slip hazards from water
    Collect trash in the gazebo & surrounding area
    Volunteers should be able to lift 40lbs.


  • Tear Down: 1-2pm [2 remaining]

    As a tear-down volunteer, you will follow guidance from Becca to tear-down and clean the space as the 5k is ending. This could mean tidying up the area, throwing out trash, hauling tables/chairs, breaking down boxes, etc.

    Duties:
    Tear down tables/chairs, event items, etc. under the direction of Heather, Ashley and Becca
    Wear closed-toed shoes, comfortable clothes to move, crouch, lift objects
    Volunteers should be able to lift up to 40lbs.


Volunteer Positions for those who are NOT interested in also participating as a 5K runner/walker

  • Water Station Attendants: 11am-12:30pm [Sold Out]

    This position will be a flexible and intuitive one. The main responsibilities will be to prep the water cooler, serve water to runners pausing for refreshment, encourage the runners/walkers and clean up after the last walker passes your water station. During the time in between, paying attention to surroundings, proactively cleaning the space, etc. There will be 2 water stations so volunteers will be divided 2 attendants per station. See duties below as directed by Leilani.
    Duties:
    Prep, stock water, cups, at station regularly
    Ensure there are no slip hazards from water
    Additional tasks include:
    Collect trash (mostly paper cups)
    Volunteers should be able to lift 40lbs.


  • Time Keepers: 11:30-12:30 [2 remaining]

    The time keepers will be responsible for documenting runners’ time results as they cross the finish line. This position will coordinate with Ashley and Leilani for the awards ceremony.
    Duties:
    Keeping all runners’ time results
    Communicating to runners their time and getting final list to Ashley and Leilani


  • Photographer/Media: 9:45am-1pm [Sold Out]

    We are looking for an individual to come and take photos and some video clips that can help promote CCA/Untied We Run 5k Fun Run and tell a story of the day. This position will coordinate with Heather.
    Duties:
    Take photos and videos of runners, volunteers, and group photo, etc.
    Making sure to take many photos with without faces of girls for ease of posting/sharing in the future.


  • Traffic controllers/guides [1 remaining]

    We are looking for individuals to help runners safely cross traffic during the race. Position coordinates with Becca.
    Duties:
    Watch for motorized and bike traffic as runners cross streets.
    Communicate with runners/walkers to ensure safety

I recognize the possibility of injury and illness associated in any way with CCA’s events and activities and hereby assume all of the risks of participating in any activity with CCA, including for example any risks that may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons being released, from dangerous or defective equipment or property owned, maintained or controlled by them, or because of their possible liability without fault.
I certify that I am physically able to participate in CCA events and activities and have not been advised to not participate by a qualified medical professional. I certify that there are no health-related reasons or problems which preclude me from participating in any activity with CCA. I will comply with CCA’s stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. I acknowledge that this Waiver and Release of Liability form will be used by the organizers and that it will govern my actions and responsibilities with CCA.

In consideration for being allowed to participate, I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns as follows:
I, FOR MYSELF, MY SPOUSE (IF APPLICABLE), WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE CCA, its sponsors, hosting organizations, employees, volunteers and associated personnel of these organizations from any and all liability, including but not limited to liability arising from the negligence or fault of those persons and entities, for my death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, and injury or damages of any kind which may befall me as a result of my participation in any sport or training program and/or being transported to or from the same, which transportation I hereby authorize.
I FOR MYSELF, MY SPOUSE (IF APPLICABLE), INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS CCA, its sponsors, hosting organizations, employees, volunteers and associated personnel of these organizations, from any and all liabilities or claims made as a result of participating in CCA events and activities, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, and hereby AND PROMISE NOT TO SUE any of them for such liabilities or claims.
I acknowledge that this activity may carry with it the potential for death, dismemberment, serious injury, and personal loss. The risks may include, but are not limited to, those caused by terrain, facilities, temperature, weather, condition of participants, equipment, vehicular traffic, actions of other people (such as participants, volunteers, spectators, and coaches), and lack of hydration.
This waiver and release of liability shall remain in effect for the duration of my participation in the activity, during this initial and all subsequent events of participation.
Photographic Release: I grant and convey to CCA all right, title and interests in any and all photographs, images, video, or audio recordings of me or my likeness or voice made by CCA in connection with all of my interactions with CCA.
The above waiver, release of liability, and photographic release shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law.
